Updated Thursday 9 September:
Telecom advises that its services continue to stand up well in the South Island following the earthquake Saturday morning. We continue to work in partnership with Civil Defence agencies to restore services.
111 services are fully-available and fixed line infrastructure is performing well, as are both Telecom mobile networks.
Telecom has made around 300 payphones and a number of Wifi hotspots in and around Christchurch free for local, national and mobile calls.
Please also see www.telecom.co.nz/earthquake for more updates and information.
Planned XT Work
08 September 2010
We're working hard to continually improve your experience of the XT network.
This week from Monday 6 September until Sunday 12 September, we have scheduled work in the following areas:
Auckland:
Bay of Plenty: Opotiki
Waikato: Matangia
As we carry out work in these areas, you may notice a decrease in services over the course of the week. This is because we may need to reduce or turn off services at certain times to work on our mobile phone sites. We will do our best to minimise any inconvenience to you, but please note that if you do have difficulty using your mobile phone during the week we recommend you use a landline.
For additional details contact 123 or your nearest Telecom store.
