Total Home, Total Home Lite and Total Home Starter Terms and Conditions
General
- Telecom Standard Residential and Broadband terms and conditions apply. See www.telecom.co.nz/terms
- Total Home ,Total Home Lite and Total Home Starter are only available to residential customers with their home phone line, calling and broadband with Telecom
- The minimum contract period for Total Home ,Total Home Lite and Total Home Starter is 12 months and an early termination fee of $199 applies
- A minimum 30 day term applies for any bolt-on calling services added to your Total Home package
- All calls apply to standard calls only, and exclude special chargeable calls eg 0900 or equivalent.
Total Home calling
- 'Unlimited number of national calls' apply to direct dial voice calls from your home line to landlines in New Zealand, and calls are for up to 2 hours, after 2 hours you will be charged 14 cents a minute. Excludes calling cards, 059, 0161, premium numbers (0900 and any international equivalent), calls made via Home 0800 or International 0800 and calls to mobiles
- Total Home customers with a National Home 0800 number will be charged at 14 cents a minute plus the applicable surcharges for the calls to the Home 0800 number. More info
- The prices for calls to Australia, UK, USA, Ireland and Canada apply to calls from your home line to landlines in these countries (calls to mobiles are excluded). Calls are charged for the first minute then per second to the calling cap. A one-minute minimum charge applies per call
- Calls made to Telecom mobiles will be capped at $2.00 for up to 2 hours. Calls exceeding the 2 hour cap will be charged on a per minute at $0.29. Calls to other network mobiles will be charged at the applicable rate per minute.
- Total Home can not be taken up in conjunction with any other calling plan, with the exception of a Talk it Up NZ & Downunder or Talk It Up Overseas calling plan and Freedom

Total Home Lite calling
- Total Home Lite includes the ability to nominate one landline number in New Zealand and make an unlimited number of direct dial voice calls each month from your home phone to that nominated landline number and talk for up to 2 hours per call. After 2 hours you will be charged 18 cents per minute, so if you are going to talk for longer, just hang up and call again! The extra charges for these calls will be displayed separately on your bill
- You can nominate up to a maximum of two additional New Zealand landline numbers for $6 per each additional nominated number. Above call duration and overage rules will apply to any nominated national numbers
- Excludes calling cards, 059, 0161, premium numbers (0900 and any international equivalent), calls made via Home 0800 or International 0800 and calls to mobiles, and excludes return calling from the nominated number(s)
- You must nominate a national landline number to take advantage of the benefits of nominated landline numbers with Total Home Lite
- You can only change your nominated number(s) once per calendar month
- The nominated number and any changes to the relationship with this number are your responsibility. If there are any changes to your product set affecting the nominated number relationship, or any changes to the number you have nominated, you need to contact Telecom NZ to make any changes
- Calls made to NZ landlines other than those nominated will be charged at a capped rate of $2.50 for the first 2 hours. After that, overage will be charged at 18 cents per minute and will be shown separately on your bill
- Calls made to Telecom mobiles will be capped at $2.50 for up to 2 hours for each call. Calls exceeding the 2 hour cap will be charged on a per minute at $0.38. Calls to other network mobiles will be charged at the applicable rate per minute.
- Total Home Lite customers with a National Home 0800 number will be charged at 18 cents a minute plus the applicable surcharges for the calls to the Home 0800 number. More info

Total Home Starter
- Calls made to standard NZ landlines will be capped at $3.00 up to 2 hours for each call. After 2 hours you will be charged $0.30c per minute. Excludes calling cards, 059, 0161, premium numbers (0900 and any international equivalent, calls made via Home 0800 or International 0800 and calls to mobiles.
- Calls made to standard Australian landlines will be capped at $3.00 for up to 2 hours for each call. After 2 hours you will be charged $0.47c per minute. Excludes calls to mobiles. Calls are charged for the first minute then per second to the calling cap. A minimum one minute charge applies per call.
- Calls made to standard New Zealand mobiles will be charged at $0.62 per minute (all networks).
- Total Home Starter cannot be taken in conjunction with any other calling plan with the exception of Talk it Up Neighbouring Area, Talk it Up Down under or Talk it Up NZ& Overseas calling plan and Freedom.
Broadband
- If Telecom Broadband is not available in your area we will be unable to provide you with a Total Home package
- For Total Home, 10GB monthly data allowance applies. If you reach your monthly data allowance your connection will be slowed to dial-up speeds until your new billing month starts
- For Total Home Lite, 5GB monthly data allowance applies. If you reach your monthly data allowance your connection will be slowed to dial-up speeds until your new billing month starts
- For Total Home Starter, 1GB monthly data allowance apples. If you reach your monthly data allowance your connection will be slowed to dial-up speeds until your new billing month starts
- Customers on Total Home can choose to upgrade their broadband plan to either the Adventure or Pro plan for an additional monthly charge
- Customers on Total Home Lite can choose to upgrade their broadband plan to the Explorer, Adventure or Pro plan for an additional monthly charge
- Customers on Total Home Starter can choose to upgrade their broadband plan to the Go, Explorer, Adventure, or Pro plan for an additional monthly charge.
- If you have a Broadband Shared Billing arrangement you will not be able to keep this with Total Home or Total Home Lite or Total Home Starter because Shared Billing is incompatible with our landline and broadband package options
