Intellihub is a utility services company that delivers innovative metering and data solutions that maximise digital and new energy services.
They employ more than 350 people across seven offices in New Zealand and Australia and manage more than one million smart meters. These smart meters collect, check, validate and package data through Intellihub’s back-end systems to its retail and network customers in the energy and water and gas sectors.

Intellihub wanted to grow their business providing intelligent metering solutions to Utilities companies, but that needed a network capable of reaching the furtherest points of New Zealand with the technology to relay data.

By partnering with Spark, Intellihub was among the first to access the best technology with Spark’s CAT M1 network solution which scaled to offer nationwide connectivity that futureproofs their meters in the field, while also connecting to their back-end systems. They underwent extensive testing and field trials of the technology developed in collaboration with Spark to assess a proof of concept solution and ensure it was robust enough for their needs. With the systems now in place they are able to collate, check, validate package and deliver metered data to their customers on a daily basis. Better yet, the infrastructure is future-proofed for their projected needs.
